If a scientist believes that a theist god actually healed a number of people in his trial group then the data is meaningless.

Any scientist who believes that god answers prayers has to suppose that god does no such thing in order to gather useful data.
I think many would include prayer as (at least) part of the placebo efect.

When people get up in the morning and make sure their weapon is within reach and they do that on a daily basis, then they wake up every day prepared, willing to kill someone that day. They wake up thinking they might be the victim of violence and that fear puts a weapon in their hand just in case their fear comes true and so at the very center of it all is that people who 'prepare' every day to face their world as a civilian and do so with a gun, are already in a violent frame of mind because the only reason to carry a gun is if you are willing to use it and the only reason there is to have a gun is to kill. (not speaking of a rural rancher or shooting range)

when asked how other people felt about something, however, a different part of the brain was at work.. specifically, the portion of the brain that was active when asking people how god felt about things was the portion of the brain associated with self-referential thinking.... people are literally making god up in their own image as they go.

It seems that some individuals had more activity in the part of the brain that we use when speaking to a friend, also some like Buddhists use another area. I think of God as my heavenly father, and not living in my head so to speak.

Yes. It is a language with rules. We use the language function in our brain to use it.
It appears to me, that you are confusing “Conventional thinking”, with logic. Conventional thinking is often proven to be wrong. A classic example would be, the old "flat earth" theory.
Logic on the other hand, is based on truth or "natural laws" (like the law of gravity), apart from what is going on in human brains at the time. For example, the speed of light. The speed of light (299,792,458 metres per second) is believed to be a natural law. It is represented by the letter c in this famous equation E = mc 2.

In other words, from your statements we can conclude you must be in a state of utter confusion about your ability to think reliably.

The issue is that before we have this discussion, you must proove you are thinking in a reliable way. I claim you have a very serious brain damage which does not allow you assimilate basic facts about the world, hereunder you have a very serious brain damage, as well as any arguments logic exist.

I was watching "through the wormhole" lastnight. They were talking about some of this. I'd would have loved to have been a subject in this study because I'm not so sure I think of God the same way most "religious" people do.

I know where you are going with this, Deputy Dog. You are offering that at some point we have to go back to creation. That God created all beings, minds, and therefore, logic as well. You'll first have to prove that all creation had to have a creator.
Actually, that's not quite accurate. Yes, I account for logic as being created by Christ, you may not like it or agree, but, how does the atheist account for it? From what I've seen on this thread atheist don't account for it at all.
Logic works from beginning to end without taking a bow to divine interference. Rocket fuel ignites without divine interference.
